Unfortunately what we see on TV helps to form our ideas. Professional hypnotherapists are concerned with a therapeutic relationship, assisting the client in finding the answer or directing the client to find their hidden resources to aid in bettering their lives. Not making a spectacle of them in front of others for so-called entertainment purposes.
Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness and awareness, a trance like state when the individual could be suggestible to new ideas.
Clinical hypnotherapy is natural and safe, with no harmful side effects. As human beings, we regularly go in and out of a light trance state as we go about our everyday lives. Have you ever been so engrossed in something that you seemed to lose all track of time? Or maybe you drove a familiar route today and when you arrived you couldn’t remember passing certain points/parts of your journey? You were in a light trance state which was completely safe and, had you needed to have reacted quickly to a particular incident, you would have immediately come out of trance.
The client is always in control. The therapist can not make you do or say anyhting you are not prepared to do or say. Your subconscious mind is there to protect you and will continue to do so even in hypnosis
In a safe, confidential and comfortable environment I will discuss further with you, your issues/condition and how we will work together to help resolve these. You will be encouraged to ask any questions you might have at this point until you feel completely comfortable and happy about the experience.
Using relaxation and hypnosis techniques to relax you, I will enable you to reach a level of trance that is right for you and for the issues to be worked upon. You remain in full control; in fact your senses are heightened whilst in the hypnotic state. All you need to do is sit back and enjoy (possibly for the first time in years) a complete mind and body therapeutic experience.
Sessions should be around an hour. Unless a special plan is involved such as smoking cessations or regressions, these sessions can be longer.
May be everything, sometimes nothing and frequently what you want or need to remember. Your mind (sub-conscious part during a trance state) will decide and filter the important aspects of the suggestions for you to remember and move forward in your goals.
Clinical hypnotherapy can succeed where other more conventional methods of treatment have not produced the desired result.
When carried out by a trained and qualified clinical hypnotherapist the benefits can be long lasting and often permanent. My aim is to assist people in finding meaningful alternatives to their present unsatisfactory ways of thinking, feeling or behaving.
Essentially, where the problem is as a result of habitual conditioning, accumulated stress or unresolved issues and experiences in your life, clinical hypnotherapy is the ideal intervention. By accessing and re programming these issues, habits and behaviours at a subconscious level I will help you to successfully move on in your life.
If you have a current issue being dealt with by your GP, I may ask you to consult with and inform them that you are seeing a hypnotherapist allowing a three-way approach to assist you.
